this DVR uses its own format for video storage and as such is not compatible with other PC hard drives.

It is mains powered, when full it will record over earlier footage and the dwell time is set by the user.

Yes, but as it has a built-in quad processor you will get the 10 cameras in one quarter of the screen.

The image quality is dependant upon the length of recording selected. eg. longer time is lower quality and shorter time is higher quality where quality=higher resolution. The lowest is VHS quality recording. eg. 320 lines.

Pictures recorded should have no problem been used in evidence. You may have noticed that all the pictures of the London bombers were captured using divices that record digitally.

It is time lapse and digital recording. If the quality is lowered, the avaiable time increases in proportion.

The recording have to be transfered in real time to other mediums. (DVD, PC, VCR etc)

The drive does NOT require formatiing. The recordings are dynamic using the recorders own file system.

The motion sensor is via software on the supported model.

UDMA or IDE drive with ATA 66 or higher transfer. (almost all modern HDDs are at least ATA66 or higher)

Can the unit be set to record from one camera only to increase the record time. If so have you any idea of the max record time with say a 120GB HDD at 25fps? |

Can I buy a HDD code A13BB and just install it, or do I need to purchase a "caddy" as well?

One camera can be connected alone, A13BB is suitable without any extras.

Output is via phone connector so you would need a device to convert the composite video signal into VGA like order codes A06FL or A88CG.
